The LG OLED desk lamp is finally in mass production! Illumination life exceeds 30,000 hours

The OLED panel produced by LG Display has a very high quality, which is evident from LG's OLED TV and the recently released V30 smartphone. However, LG's application of OLED panels is not limited to electronic products. Recently, they have demonstrated the use of OLED panels as illumination sources.

This is actually not the first time LG promoted OLED table lamps. In 2014, LG Electronics has demonstrated similar product concepts. Now, LG Display has turned it into reality.

In the past three years, the technology of this OLED table lamp has been greatly developed. It was originally made using a second-generation manufacturing process, and LG Display now uses a more efficient fifth-generation line.

This OLED table lamp uses an ultra-thin light-emitting panel and is covered by plastic, so it is very flexible. LG Display has produced three different light-emitting panels, one is square and the other two are ovals of different lengths.

The power of this table lamp is higher than that of the 2014 version, and the illuminating life is also extended. LG Display publicly displayed the three lamps at the DesignJunction exhibition held in London recently. It said that the elliptical model has a luminous life of 30,000-70,000 hours, which is equivalent to 10 hours of lighting every day for 13 years.

Like other LED lights, LG's OLED desk lamps support color temperature adjustment to match current environment, time or use. Its flexibility also gives the product design a high degree of freedom, and in addition to home, LG Display is currently working with car manufacturers to bring their own lighting panels into the car.

It is worth mentioning that LG Display does not sell these lamps directly. Although the commercial version of the product is currently available for purchase, the fifth-generation OLED table lamp that LG Display will show will not be fully operational until early next year.
