The Central Plains jade culture originated from the end of the primitive society (from 6,000 to 4,200 years ago). Shi Junzheng: Experience of ancient jade identification of "actual war faction"

Shi Junzheng, editor-in-chief of the Hidden Dragon Jade Edition and a member of the ancient jade appraisal of Henan Judicial Art Appraisal Center, as a "real combat faction" who has been exploring the market for a long time, brought "the identification and identification method of ancient jade" to everyone. Unreservedly shared his years of accumulated experience, very practical.

Shi Junzheng's identification methods mainly start from punching, micro-marking, ochre, phosgene and patina. From the Neolithic period to the Spring and Autumn Period, the hole of the jade is mainly the horn hole, also called the horseshoe hole, and the double-hole "bovine nostril" and a small number of straight holes. At that time, the drilling method was to pour the “solution jade sand” while slowly drilling the hole with a tubular tool. The hole showed a “flare” with a large mouth and a smaller diameter, and left a spiral in the hole. The pattern is significantly different from the intensive mechanical traces exhibited by modern high-speed punching tools. The difference can be seen from the magnified HD picture.

In terms of micro-marks, the ancient jade is slowly polished by hand, and the traces from the jade can be seen from the rough scratches to the fine grinding process; the imitations are all engraved with high-speed tools, and finally polished with a cloth turbine. Dozens of jade wares are old, dyed, and soiled. They can be seen in rough, but the grooves are smooth and smooth without any burrs, and there is no trace of slow grinding and polishing of ancient jade.

Twilight is also an important basis for identification. The ancient jade is affected by factors such as soil pH, geothermal heat, minerals in water and soil, etc., which will produce different ochre; the density of jade is low or the cracked part is firstly smashed and slowly spread to the surroundings, while the jade is closely affected. After the ancient jade is unearthed, it forms an overall phosgene. The reflective points are concentrated, and the light will not scatter everywhere. It looks warm and soft and not glaring, unlike the thief of modern jade.
