At this moment, the 2003 Chinese team members of the Everest Mountaineering team held up a five-star red flag on the peak of Mount Everest at an altitude of 8,848.13 meters and was clearly presented to all Chinese people through the TV screen.

This is the first time that humans have been broadcasting the Everest summit. During the 11-day live coverage, Beijing, Everest base camp, campsite in front, and mountain video direct broadcast programs reached 206 hours, a new breakthrough in the history of CCTV broadcast. The successful completion of the live broadcast is not only an extreme challenge for television workers and various equipment in harsh environments, but also an unprecedented history of the development of China’s television industry and even the world media industry.

In this large-scale live broadcast program, domestic and foreign media have commented that the success of this live broadcast is a brand-new breakthrough in the history of CCTV television broadcasting and is a severe challenge to the working limits of television workers and various devices in harsh environments. First Everest terrain and climate


Mount Everest is located in the eastern section of the China-Nepal border. The northern slope is in the territory of China's Tibet and the southern slope is in Nepal. The entire mountain is in a giant pyramid, majestic, towering, and surrounded by extremely steep terrain, and the weather is changing rapidly. Everest is not only magnificent, but also magnificent. In the range of 20 kilometers around it, there are many peaks and mountains, and there are more than 40 peaks above 7000 meters above sea level.

This climb uses the traditional route of the northeastern ridge route. There are six mountaineering camps on the climbing route. The 5,100-meter base camp, the 1,500-meter-long camp 1, the 6,000-meter camp 2, and the 6,500-meter camp are also known as the advance camp. 7028 The No. 4 Camp is also known as the Beijiao Camp, the 7790m Camp No. 5, and the 8300m Camp No. 6 also known as the Assault Camp and the 8848m Mount Everest peak.


Base Camp is the general commander and general coordination and protection camp for climbing Everest. The forward camp is a frontline command and coordination camp for mountaineering. From the North Point camp, you can see almost all the climbing routes and camps, and you can see the forward camps down. Due to the obstruction of 7543 meters of Zhangzifeng, we can only see the height of 8,850 meters above the peak of Everest in the base camp. The distance from the base camp to the forward camp is approximately 18 kilometers. The base camp of the base camp is approximately 19 kilometers from the summit of the Mount Everest, and the forward camp is about 2 kilometers from the camp of Beidai. The north camp is about 6 kilometers from the camp. The terrain of the entire climbing route is complex, meandering, uneven and dangerous.


The climate in the Everest region is complex and changeable. Even within a day, it is often clear and snowy. The minimum temperature can reach minus 30 degrees. The maximum wind speed can reach 90 meters/second. Statistical analysis shows that, in mountain areas, the change in surface wind speed is greater than in plain areas, and the higher the altitude, the greater the change in wind speed.


The diurnal variation of surface wind speed at an altitude of 4,500 meters is 4.5 times the altitude of 1000 meters. At this altitude, the wind speed at 2 to 6 o'clock local time is 5.5 m/s higher than the average wind speed at night and in the morning. It is inferred that the diurnal variation of surface wind speed at an altitude of 6000 to 8000 meters is about 6 to 8 times the altitude of 1000 meters above sea level, that is, the wind speed in the afternoon is about 7.3 meters/second to 9.8 meters/second higher than the wind speed at night and in the morning.
