GE concept LED desk lamp will sell artificial intelligence into additional items

From smiling robots to vacuum cleaners to family cars, Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant has been involved in a variety of products. Given the high adaptability of Alexa, the integration of lighting products is a matter of time.

Last year, GE Lighting unveiled a concept LED desk lamp Sol with built-in Alexa voice assistant, which was ridiculed for its strange shape. Now, GE has “slimmed down” the circle frame of this desk lamp and officially launched it into the market.

Sol combines Alexa and has some basic features like all smart home products that combine Alexa. In other words, you can use this table lamp to order toilet paper, play music, and broadcast the weather. As long as you speak to the desk lamp, it will respond to your request like all Amazon voice products.

Every time you call Alexa, Sol's inner circle of the big ring will light up to respond. If you ask Alexa some time, the inner circle of the lamp will shine in the position where the clock hands pass. It seems that this kind of bright response doesn't seem to make any sense, but it makes Sol no longer just a monotonous desk lamp. GE said it will add more light response modes in the future.

In addition to the light response, Sol can also adjust the color temperature of the light to help sleep. When it's time to sleep, Sol will emit warm yellow light to help you fall asleep; by the morning, it will give off a refreshing, energetic light that will make you feel energized when you wake up.

You can also manually adjust the color temperature of the desk lamp via voice commands or mobile apps. In the past, some desk lamp products were also able to adjust the color temperature, but Sol was the first desk lamp that could be adjusted by voice.

This desk lamp will be shipped in September, although it seems that its features do not need Amazon Echo wonderful, but the price is not cheap. The table lamp Sol is priced at US$199 (about RMB 1371), but GE Lighting is offering a 20% discount for early booking customers, so it is still too early to buy.
